The Dreaming Swimmer

Clive James

I was impressed by Clive James from when I was a kid. He was an intellectual beamed into rural NSW through the television. I loved his insights and wit and broad knowledge and curiosity. It was infectious and fun.

I remember Robert Hughes and Geoffrey Robertson having the same impression on me.

This book is Clive's selected works in article, newspaper, verse, speeches from 87 to 92. Some of the references were lost on me but I enjoyed reading about Clive's critiques of books and poetry and painting and television.
