I loved the Bourne series, I read them when I was young and before the movies. I love the movies too. This book is not as good. To start with I did not feel much empathy for the characters, most of which were wealthy americans using swiss bank accounts. Their wealth and position in society made them targets for the Russians.
It was a thriller, i enjoyed reading it and read it quickly. It did have some cool elements and the suspense built. But it was not tidy or in some cases believeable.
